More Theater and Making Important Decisions Amidst Problems

Theater is now beginning to be a lot more fun than I had expected as we are working on the play Illuminati and rehearsing our scenes and such. I actually played some pretty intense soccer for two hours before my last rehearsal and after I got there and got settled in we were going through one of our scenes. The scene was supposed to have two actors talking together with me and then me and one of the two actors suddenly disperse after the conversation.  As the two of us disperse the other actor left was supposed to attack another actor who comes on stage by flailing his arms and pretending to hit him. However, as me and one of the two actors were exiting the stage, the one actor that was supposed to stay and beat up the other character ended up accidentally striking me in the mouth very hard. I bled a lot and there's a lengthy deep wound on my lip that I can basically always feel but it did make for a good story. I mean it is pretty ironic to play some intense soccer for two hours and not get injured and then go to a theater rehearsal and thirty minutes into the rehearsal get punched in the face. However I also felt that the incident was so minor and petty in the scheme of things that it wasn't worth letting my spirit and attitude change. I figured it would be a waste of time and illogical to let this cut ruin my night as an actor and possibly the days following the incident. I figured I also might as well look on the bright side because I could've been seriously injured from that. I just try to apply this principle to my life as much as I can because it's so important to me to have a good attitude in life and not let things that you can't control get in the way of reaching your goals or maintaining the same attitude.

Another obstacle I just encountered was today when I had to decide what classes to register for next semester and this was very important because I'll need to declare my major by the end of that semester and should be close to deciding on a major or getting a better idea of what I'd want to major in by now. So I essentially decided my major in a roundabout way because I had to decide the classes that I want to take next year and I figured I should be taking more classes for my major. Furthermore, because I'm planning on double majoring, which would require a lot of classes, I almost have no choice but to take classes to fulfill my majors. After having a pretty serious and honest conversation with my academic advisor I felt comfortable enough to basically figure out what I will be majoring in. I made sure my choice felt right to me by pondering on the implications and possibilities that could arise from my majors.
